Michael L. McCain is an attorney with Seaton, Beck & Peters, P.A. He represents employers exclusively in the area of labor and employment law and advises employers on various matters including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour law, union avoidance, employment contracts and policies and non-compete/non-solicitation agreements. Prior to his employment with Seaton, Beck & Peters, P.A., Mr. McCain worked as an associate at the law firm of Neaton & Puklich, P.L.L.P., where he practiced primarily in the area of employment law.
Mr. McCain graduated, cum laude, from the University of Northern Iowa where he received his bachelor of arts in Psychology. He received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. While attending law school, Mr. McCain served as a member of the Family Advocacy Clinic providing legal services to low income clients. Mr. McCain also volunteered with Shelter Legal Services Foundation, a student-run organization providing legal aid to homeless clients. Since law school, Mr. McCain has represented clients in both state and federal court. He has first-chair trial experience and has successfully litigated cases on behalf of his clients.
Mr. McCain is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Labor & Employment Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law before the state and federal courts of Minnesota. Mr. McCain has been selected as a 2007 Minnesota “Rising Star” by Law & Politics magazine.
