Jon S. Olson is an attorney with Seaton, Beck & Peters, P.A. He practices exclusively in the areas of labor and employment law, and has represented employers before state and federal courts, the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, the Minnesota Department of Labor, and other state and municipal agencies. Mr. Olson has experience defending against claims of race, sex, age, and disability discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act, Whistleblower Act violations, breach of contract and non-compete agreements, as well as other employment related tort claims.
Mr. Olson also represents and advises employers in unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, including defending employers in 10(j) injunction proceedings initiated by the Board. He has been involved in numerous NLRB elections and representational hearings, and has substantial experience advising employers on union avoidance strategies. He also provides advice and representation to unionized employers during collective bargaining negotiations.
Mr. Olson is admitted to practice before the State and United States District Courts in the State of Minnesota, and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He graduated with honors from Hamline University School of Law, and from St. Olaf College
