The Seventh Annual Upper Midwest Labor Law Forum
For HR and Labor Relations Professionals

Thursday, March 8, 2012 | 8:15 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bloomington

Registration and Continental Breakfast Beginning at 7:30 a.m.

We are pleased to sponsor a full-day, upper-level program dealing with today’s most significant labor relations issues.

Highlights of the program include:

  • Significant Recent Labor Developments, including the status of union election rule changes by the Obama Board, the Minnesota childcare provider unionization case, and new NLRB and federal labor cases and union issues.

  • Collective Bargaining Trends and Strategies in an Uncertain Economy, covering wage patterns, pension and insurance issues including withdrawal liability, subcontracting, concessionary bargaining strategies, and contingency plans for potential bargaining impasses and strikes.

  • The Employment Law Update, summarizing new employment laws, cases, and proposed legislation, including the legal challenges to the federal healthcare reform law, and developments in immigration law.

  • Successful Advocacy in Arbitrations, including an examination of principles, strategies, and tips, and a discussion of hypothetical discipline, discharge and contract interpretation cases by a panel of experienced arbitrators.

  • Defending Against Union Picketing and Publicity Campaigns, covering the legal and practical employer responses to union picketing, bannering, handbilling, and other union publicity activities.

We believe this is the only comprehensive program in the Midwest geared to labor relations experts, and your presence would be a significant contribution to the program.
